Night of Fire

Night of Fire
May 30, 2008

Visitors to Bristol Dragway will feel the temperature rise at the May 30 Night of Fire, as 300-mph Nitro Funny Cars, monster trucks and a large dinosaur that snacks on vehicles highlight the return of the popular event.

Kids of all ages will enjoy Night of Fire and the wide range of excitement that will greet them when they arrive. The night begins with Bobby Cox who will clown around and keep everyone in stitches.

Nitro-burning, fire-breathing Funny Cars will scorch the track and show fans why it is called Thunder Valley. Monster trucks will perform an amazing freestyle session, followed by the always-popular car crush.

A wheelstander will bring the crowd to its feet as it raises its front wheels skyward and makes a pass down the quarter-mile. Two jet cars, the Cannonball Express and the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, will put on a fire show that will dazzle guests. Like on rails, they will scream down the track at speeds approaching 250 mph, faster than Casey Jones ever dreamed.

The night ends with a bang as Benny the Bomb straps himself inside a car, pushes a button and sends his car into a raging inferno. Benny will walk away from his car and join the crowd to watch the final act of the night, Megasaurus.

Megasaurus loves the taste of junk cars, and Bristol Dragway will provide him with his favorite snack. Fans will enjoy watching the metal marvel munch on old vehicles, while shooting flames from his nostrils.

An amazing fireworks show caps off a night that is sure to please those with an appetite for fire, destruction and mayhem.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Spectator admission is $15 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-15. Children five and under are free.
