Members of the Bowtie Brigade need to mark their calendars for Sept. 21-23 and plan to make a trip to Bristol Dragway for the 27th Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Super Chevy Show presented by Jeg's. With plenty of racing action, exhibition vehicles and car shows, the 2007 edition looks to be one of the most exciting to date.

Competition will feature bracket racers and Super Chevy's professional drivers, as well as the spectacular Nitro Coupes, which are Pro Modifieds that run on nitromethane.

A "Battle of the Sexes" will occur between two of jet dragster racing's superstars when Lou Pereira's Terminator takes on 23-year-old Jessie Harris' Queen of Diamonds. Also scheduled to appear is Bob Hall and his outrageous 2002 Chevy Astro van wheelstander, which is capable of speeds approaching 150 mph on the quarter-mile track.

Those in attendance will have plenty of activities to keep them busy all weekend. In addition to what is happening on the strip, the TREMEC Transmission Car Show gives spectators the chance to get up close and personal with some super Chevys. Anyone interested in locating new products for their restoration project will want to visit the Performance & Restoration Marketplace. If that hard-to-find used part is proving to be difficult to locate, the car corral and used parts swap meet may be the place to go.

Gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday, with a Test & Tune, open only to Super Chevy weekend participants, scheduled from noon-5pm.

Saturday's gates open at 7 a.m., and action begins with Time Trials at 9 a.m. Before the professional drivers take to the track at noon, they will participate in an autograph session in the pro pits at 11:30 a.m. Car show awards will be presented at 4 p.m., with another pro round at 4:30 p.m.

Gates open at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning with the first round of eliminations set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Professional racing occurs at noon and 4:30 p.m., while TREMEC Transmission Car Show awards will be handed out at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for Friday and $22 on Saturday and Sunday. A three-day pass may be purchased for $32. Fans may visit O'Reilly Auto Parts for a $3 off coupon for Saturday or Sunday adult general admission tickets. Junior tickets for those aged 11-15 are only $10.00 per day. A three-day junior pass is available for $15.00. Children 10 and under are free with an adult.
