NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series
NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series returns to Thunder Valley Sept. 5, 2013 in an event which will draw competitors from across NHRA’s Southeast Division.
Bristol’s event is one of 43 NHRA LODRS events scheduled for 2013, and its position at the end of the calendar means many racers from other divisions may plan to visit Bristol Dragway to collect points in the race for NHRA divisional and national championships.
Eight car classes of racing will run during the event, with competition in the same Sportsman categories featured during the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Racing takes place in Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster.
New to the LODRS schedule for select events, including Bristol, is the NHRA Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series which will feature five classes: Top Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin’ Bagger, Street Pro, and Hot Street. The classes will run in addition to the Sportsman ET Motorcycle class that currently competes at various NHRA divisional events.
