The hottest street-legal racing around is back in action this week at Thunder Valley.

It doesn’t get much better than getting the opportunity to race in Thunder Valley but throw in the chance to win money and pizza and it’s a can’t-miss kind of event.

The second round of the 13^th season of Street Fights presented by ZRock 99.3 pulls into the staging lanes this Thursday, April 4 highlighted by THE FIRST POWER HOUR of the year!

Street Fights presented by ZRock 99.3 returns to Thunder Valley for another spectacular season of the hottest street-legal racing action around. 

With the start of school just behind them, Northeast State and Bristol Dragway want to puts students on the “fast track” during the Sept. 13 Taco Bell® Street Fights event. Northeast State Night gives students a break to hit the track instead of the books on Thursday night. One lucky person also will leave Thunder Valley with a new iPod Nano thanks to Northeast State.

School is just around the corner and Northeast State and Bristol Dragway want to puts students on the “fast track” during the August 9 Taco Bell® Street Fights event.

Northeast State Night gives students one last chance to hit the track before they hit the books for the upcoming school year. One lucky person also will leave Thunder Valley with a new iPod Nano thanks to Northeast State.

Ford has a special surprise for the spectators and fans that come to Taco Bell Street Fights on June 28. It’s not a bird or a plane falling from the sky, but instead, cold hard cash. 

Ford Money Drop is back in Thunder Valley, with a fan-favorite promotion to give everyone a chance to leave at the end of the night with their pockets filled with bills. 

The United States Air Force, a group known for speed and muscle, plays host to area race fans during the May 31 Taco Bell Street Fights at Bristol Dragway, another entity known for speed and muscle. During the evening, there will be several special opportunities for spectators to experience the power of the Air Force.

Bristol Dragway and the Taco Bell® Street Fights have a simple question for race fans. Where do you eat your tacos?

As part of a new promotion, race fans can submit photos of themselves eating Taco Bell® food for a chance to win a catered party for 10 people at the Street Fights season finale. Creative photos are encouraged, as the best will be selected each week for special prizes.

Power Hour returns to Taco Bell Street Fights on Thursday, May 3 with a new format which is sure to increase the drama and importance of this all-out, run what ya’ brung event.  

For 2012, five Power Hours will be scheduled throughout the season, giving the region’s baddest street cars an opportunity to flex their muscle in front of the crazy Street Fights crowd.

Thanks to a group of students at East Tennessee State University, College Night at Taco Bell® Street Fights on Thursday, April 26 will be the perfect evening to take a break from study time and learn about reaction time.

At the beginning of the semester, students from the Motorsports Operations program at ETSU were tasked with developing and executing promotions for a Bristol Dragway event. They chose to continue the College Night theme from years past with a couple of additions.

During the April 5 Taco Bell® Street Fights presented by ZROCK 99.3 event in Thunder Valley, spectators and racers will be looking upward. No, the sky isn’t falling, but cash will be floating from the top of the Bristol Dragway control tower.

Bristol Dragway officials today announced Taco Bell® as the title sponsor for Street Fights, the ever-popular street-legal drag racing series.

Entering its 12^th season in Thunder Valley, Taco Bell® Street Fights presented by ZROCK 99.3 is the place for anyone with a need for speed to take racing to the track. Any street-legal vehicle can participate at Street Fights and there are no limitations on skill, as long as the racer has a valid driver’s license.

Ford power will be on display at the Fas Mart Street Fights Series Thursday, Sept. 15 as the company once again joins the popular street-legal drag racing series as sponsor of Ford Night. 

Street Fights is the perfect opportunity for everyone to put their vehicle to the test. From station wagons and mini-vans to high-power American muscle and import tuners, there is something for everyone. 

Bristol Dragway officials have elected to postpone the Fas Mart Street Fights event originally scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 18 until a later date due to the upcoming August NASCAR race weekend.

Bristol Dragway’s Fas Mart Street Fights is known for attracting vehicles of all kinds to Thunder Valley, and at Tennessee National Guard Night on July 21, spectators will get to see another…Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 National Guard show car.  

Fans will be able to get up close and take a look at Earnhardt Jr.’s office and find out what makes it tick. Tennessee National Guard personnel also will be on hand at this exciting Street Fights event.

Life would be so much easier if money fell from the sky. On June 2, during the Fas Mart Street Fights event in Thunder Valley, life will become a little easier for a few fans, as cash will rain down from atop the control tower during the always-popular money drop. 

At the event, fans should visit the Bristol Dragway gaming trailer to enter for their chance to be selected to compete in the promotion. 

Bike Night at the Thursday, May 12 Fas Mart Street Fights will give motorcycle owners a chance to flex their muscle on their two-wheel missiles in Thunder Valley.

Riders know the rush they receive riding their machines, but taking a quick blast down Bristol Dragway is an unmatched experience. 

There will be smoke on the mountain- and in the valley- during the Thursday, May 5 Fas Mart Street Fights event at Bristol Dragway thanks to the always-popular Burnout Competition.

Vehicles of all sizes will take part in this exciting contest to show which machine can produce the biggest and thickest cloud of tire-melting smoke in Thunder Valley. No one ever knows what may happen as cars are pushed to their limit.

Thunder Valley gets ready for Easter at the Fas Mart Street Fights event on Thursday, April 21, with a gift left by the Easter Bunny himself.

Dragway staff will hide the prize egg somewhere in Thunder Valley. Throughout the night, clues will be announced detailing where to find the hidden egg. Once the hunt begins, anyone can search for it. The lucky person who is able to discover the egg will win several goodies from Bristol Dragway…and the Easter Bunny, of course.

It’s everybody’s dream – money falling from the sky – and on Thursday night, April 7, a few lucky fans at Fas Mart Street Fights will have the chance to keep everything they can catch as the money drop returns.

Fans can visit the Bristol Dragway gaming trailer and enter for their chance to be selected to compete in the money drop during the event. 

To reward loyal Fas Mart Street Fights racers and spectators, Bristol Dragway officials have developed a new season pass to help them save money all season in Thunder Valley.

Beginning now, interested racers can purchase a five race pass for only $35. The pass represents a $15 savings, as regular racer admission pricing is $10 per event. Competitors can purchase as many passes as they want for the 2011 season.

Thunder Valley is sure to rock during the Thursday, Sept. 16 season finale of the Fas Mart Street Fights Series, as two local bands take to the stage for one of the fans’ favorite promotions… Thompson Metal Services Local and Loud Night.

Hosted by Z-Rock 99.3 FM and Thompson Metal Services, Shattered Bliss and Contact the Militia will heat up the night with a concert beginning at 8 p.m.

Two Fas Mart Street Fights Series events keep Thunder Valley rocking this week with events on both Thursday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 11.

With school now back in session, Bristol Dragway hosts the CenturyLink Back to School Bash Thursday night to give students an opportunity to make their homework a little easier. Thanks to CenturyLink, a new laptop will be given away to one deserving student during the evening. The student who correctly answers the most trivia questions will take home the prize.

Three drivers walked away from last weekend’s Fourth Annual World Footbrake Challenge with wallets much heavier than when they arrived in Thunder Valley.

Steve Alford of Angier, N.C. drove his 1971 Ford Pinto to victory in Friday’s first $10,000-to-win shootout event. Alford defeated Manny Sousa from Bradenton, Fla. in the final round. Alford had a .020 reaction time and a 7.022 elapsed time (7.02 dial-in) at 94.75 mph. Sousa’s losing effort combined a .017 reaction with a 5.803 E.T. (5.78 dial-in).

Anyone who likes to baby their ride will want to visit the Stay True Tattoo Day at the Fas Mart Street Fights Series event on Saturday, June 26.

A car show, featuring the hottest cars in the area, will give every gear head a chance to display their ride for everyone to admire. At the end of the day, awards will be given out to the best in several categories.

On Thursday, May 20, Fas Mart Street Fights racers have the chance to be part of a unique race sponsored by Virginia Laser Corporation. An incredible five cars will earn wins during the event.

Tom and Charlotte Deskins, owners of Virginia Laser Corporation, present the Third Annual Virginia Laser Shootout at Street Fights and promise that the format will keep everyone on their toes.

Two-wheel thunder invades Bristol Dragway during Bike Night on Thursday, May 6, while anyone looking for a last-minute Mother’s Day gift should look no further than Thunder Valley on Saturday, May 8.

Bristol Dragway serves as the kick-off for Johnson City’s Thunder in The Mountains Motorcycle Rally. Thanks to event sponsor, Smith Brothers’ Harley-Davidson, anyone through the gates on a motorcycle will be able to race for only $5.

Racer registration for the October 1-2, PINKS ALL OUT filled in less than 10 minutes on Monday morning, once again proving the popularity of racing in PINKS ALL OUT at Thunder Valley.

Four hundred racer entries were made available at 10 a.m. EST Monday, and by 10:10 a.m. all slots had been filled for the event.

Thunder Valley shifts into high gear this week as the second event in the Fas Mart Street Fights series takes place Thursday night, April 1 and the season opener for the DER Racing Series will run Saturday, April 3.

Thursday's Street Fights is presented by Ford and will feature special Ford contests and giveaways during the event. In addition, Ford will be giving away several sets of tickets to the April 30-May 2 running of the Inaugural Blue Oval Bash at Bristol Dragway.

Bristol Dragway officials have looked through the emails and tallied the votes and the search for the new Fas Mart Street Fights Series announcer is down to four contestants.

Wesley Outland, Craig Stapleton, Reece Wheeler and Nathan Anderson will compete against each other during the Street Fights season opener on March 27 to determine who will fill the slot for the 2010 season. Each participant will take their time behind the microphone calling the exciting street-legal drag racing action in Thunder Valley.

Ever dreamed of becoming a professional racing announcer? For one lucky fan, that will become a reality as Bristol Dragway is searching for the new voice of Thunder Valley's popular Fas Mart Street Fights.
