For the second time in 2007, Junior Dragsters will roll into Thunder Valley for a big weekend of their own, Aug. 31-Sept. 2. After a successful 2007 Jr. Dragster Eastern Conference Finals earlier this year, the Mike Bos Racing.com Junior Dragster Fall Nationals will keep the strip rocking with hundreds of young drag racers from across the Southeast.
One big addition to this year's race is the Mike Bos Challenge. On Sunday afternoon, drivers that enter the Challenge will have a chance to bring home a U.S. Savings Bond worth $3,000. The entry fee for this special class is $40.
The Fall Nationals return to Bristol Dragway for the sixth time. The event continues to gain popularity as one of the most popular Jr. Dragster events on the calendar.
At the Mike Bos Racing.com Fall Nationals, Jr. Dragster racers ages eight to 17 will have the opportunity to compete in 12 classes for the chance to earn savings bonds.
Gates open at 9 a.m. on Friday with tech inspection at 10 a.m. and a test and tune session from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. A special fun race will give participants one more chance to tame the track.
Saturday begins when gates open and tech inspection takes place at 8 a.m. Time trials will run from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Index eliminations begin at 3:30.
Gates open at 9 a.m. on Sunday, with a church service at 9:30. The first round of time trials takes place at 10:30. Qualifying for the Quick 32 begins at Noon, with bracket eliminations at 1 p.m. Drivers that want to compete for the Savings Bond will race in the Mike Bos Challenge at 4 p.m. The weekend will conclude with the King/Queen of the Hill race at 5 p.m.
