With weather preventing the full running of the competition, the Southern Outlaw Tour '08 event slated to run this weekend (April 4-6) at Bristol Dragway has been rescheduled for October 10-12.
With the large number of classes and activities planned for the weekend, officials opted to postpone the race to give everyone the opportunity to experience the full slate of events in Thunder Valley.
"This was going to be a special event and all the racers are excited about racing in Bristol," said Event Director George Howard. "I'm definitely excited about racing here. We will return in October and look forward to the event."
"Obviously, we are unhappy the weather came," he continued, "but we will be happy to return again later in the year. We will begin the series in May and this race will be one of the final events of the season for us."
To thank competitors for their support of the event, a test and tune session has been scheduled for Sunday, April 6. Gates open at 10 a.m., with a church service scheduled for 11 a.m. Test and tune begins at noon. Entry for competitors is $20. Spectator admission is $5.
