Bristol, Va. resident Patty Eads wheeled her Ford Mustang to victory in the Corporal Clean Trophy division during last weekend's DER Bracket Racing Series action at Bristol Dragway.

Eads overcame a .036 slower reaction time to best Roan Mountain's Alex Heaton with a 16.549 elapsed time (16.54 dial-in) at 80 mph. Heaton's runner-up efforts featured a .060 reaction time with a 17.66 elapsed time (17.57 dial-in) at 77.29 mph.

A second Bristol resident steered their way to winner's circle last weekend, this time in the Trading Post Sportsman division. A 0.65 reaction time, 10.496 elapsed time (10.47 dial-in) and 124.63 mph speed gave Jason Nelson the victory over Abingdon, Va. resident Don Evans who recorded a .077 reaction time and 12.547 elapsed time (12.55 dial-in) at 104.66 mph.

Jayson Haynes (Mount Carmel, Tenn.) notched his second win this year in Motorcycle action, capitalizing on a 117.29 mph speed and 5.987 elapsed time (5.85 dial-in) to defeat Butler, Tenn. resident Michael Leonard (.040 reaction time, 11.56 dial-in, 11.551 elapsed time, 49.52 mph).

Morganton, NC resident Ray Crane took top honors in the Virginia Laser Pro series, edging out Tim Griffith's (Cedar Bluff, Va.) .037 reaction time, 6.676 elapsed time (6.68 dial-in) and 109.63 mph speed with his.018 reaction time and 7.647 elapsed time (7.64 dial-in) at 87.07 mph.

Ian Woods (Knoxville, Tenn.) snagged the win in Super Pro, posting a speed of 138.57 mph with a .012 reaction time and 4.873 elapsed time (4.86 dial-in). Runner-up Christi

Johnson (Maryville, Tenn.) recorded a .039 reaction time and 4.968 elapsed time (4.93 dial-in) at 130.52 mph.

The win in Junior Dragster Division 1 went to Carson Brown (Blountville, Tenn.). His .064 reaction time and 8.93 elapsed time (8.90 dial-in) at 73.73 mph gave him the victory over Bristol, Va. resident Joseph Denton's 71.35 mph speed, .046 reaction time and 9.162 elapsed time (9.18 dial-in).

A foul by Gabe Ellison (Rogersville, Tenn.) handed the Junior Dragster Division II win to Corryton, Tenn. resident Dylan Howard who posted an 82.72 mph speed and 7.899 elapsed time (7.93 dial-in).

Rain dampened Sunday's on-track efforts, but the DER Bracket Racing Series will return to action in Thunder Valley June 21 - 23. Gates open Friday at 4 p.m. with time trials scheduled to begin at 5:30. Gates open at 10 a.m. on Saturday with time trials beginning at noon and eliminations immediately following.
