One of the wildest rides on two wheels rumbles in to Bristol during the Aug. 3-4 All Harley Drag Racing Association Thunder in the Valley Nationals presented by 95.9 THE HOG & 93.9 FM94. 

AHDRA gears up for one of the biggest events of the year at the upcoming Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Thunder in the Valley Nationals. 

AHDRA racers give fans plenty of excitement and this season’s event should be no different as the top riders battle on the legendary quarter-mile. Competition has increased all summer and is expected to reach a fever pitch when the series rolls in to Thunder Valley.  

Fans can expect plenty of fast action with sixteen classes of competition, including nitro Harleys, modified gas bikes, street bikes and more. 

Nothing matches the distinct Harley rumble echoing down the valley of historic Bristol Dragway, one of drag racing’s iconic tracks. There is something for every Harley lover during the Thunder in the Valley Nationals. From regular street cruisers to extreme pro machines, there is no shortage of action.

One of the event’s highlights is the nitro-powered Top Fuel class which features machines capable of speeds in excess of 230 mph.

With elite sponsors on board, there will be plenty for racers and fans to enjoy throughout the weekend. An expansive Manufacturers' Row, including the AHDRA Merchandise Trailer, will provide Harley enthusiasts the perfect place to purchase parts for their machines.

The action kicks off on Tuesday, July 31st from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Black Wolf Harley-Davidson Bike Night at Mellow Mushroom in Bristol. Black Wolf Harley-Davidson will host the official AHDRA Nitro Party on Thursday, August 2nd, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.  On hand will be AHDRA Race Bike Displays, AHDRA Racers, food, giveaways, discount tickets and more. Race fans can stop and meet the racers and get a peek at their nitro-burning machines.

Racing gets under way on Friday with a Test and Tune from 1:30 p.m.  – 5:30 p.m. followed by round one of qualifying beginning at 6 p.m. Round two of qualifying will follow immediately after round one. 

On Saturday, round three qualifying begins with the pros at 12:30 p.m. Pre-race ceremonies and eliminations start immediately after the third round of qualifying. Gates open at 8 a.m. both days.

Admission to the Thunder in the Valley Nationals is $45 for the weekend, with single-day passes for $25. H.O.G. members with a valid membership ID will receive a $5 discount at the gate, and children 11 and under are admitted free.

Active and reserve Military personnel receive free admission with valid Military ID. Each event ticket gives fans direct access to the pits for an up-close look at the motorcycles in competition as well as time to meet the race teams.

Weekend camping is available at Bristol Dragway starting on Friday. Tent sites are $25 and RV sites with hook-ups are $100.
