Speeds in excess of 175 mph rocketed Extreme Pro Stock series driver Cary Goforth to a memorable 2012 Thunder Valley Madness victory, a feat he hopes to repeat at Bristol Dragway’s X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) event this weekend.

“Getting that win, it was a special moment at a special track last year,” said Goforth. “Any win is special, but to get one at Bristol is one that you’ll always remember. You never forget something like that.”

“There are some new things we’re trying on the car, and we’re going to try to apply this weekend. It would be awesome to go in and perform like we did last year and get a win, but we just need to go some rounds right now. I just want to go rounds.”

After a disappointing performance in the X-DRL season-opener two weeks ago in Tulsa, OK., the back-to-back Pro Stock series world champion is eager to get back on track in legendary Thunder Valley.

“The track is unforgettable and the atmosphere is just incredible,” said Goforth. “It’s an awesome place; it really is and I’m ready to get back there. I’m pretty pumped about the weekend and racing again in Bristol.”

Along with the X-treme Pro Stock series, Supercar Showdown, Pro Junior Dragster, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, X-Treme Pro Mod, Pro Nitrous, and Pro Extreme race during Thunder Valley Madness.
