Bristol Dragway has become home to the area’s ultimate event for destruction, thrills and extreme speed, the Sept. 22 Beef O’ Brady’s Thunder Valley Mayhem presented by Thompson Metal Services, and this season’s edition promises to live up to its explosive reputation.

No other event in the region comes close to matching Thunder Valley Mayhem, which is known for its thrill-a-minute action. The event features some of racing’s craziest machines and outrageous personalities in an evening of on-the-edge entertainment.

Set as the highlight of the Sept. 21-23 Super Chevy Show, Thunder Valley Mayhem takes place under the lights at legendary Bristol Dragway. Thanks to the night skies, fans will be treated to plenty of sparks, flames and fireworks during the evening.

Nitro-powered Pro Mods square off in one of the wildest shows on four wheels as the pilots of these rockets have their work cut out as the cars fight them down the entire length of Thunder Valley.

Not only will the Pro Mods put on a daring show, the high-speed excitement continues with lightning-fast passes by flame-throwing jet dragsters. These cars are capable of intense fire shows and can blaze their way down the track at speeds nearing 200 mph.

One of drag bike racing’s biggest names, Larry “Spiderman” McBride brings his nitro-belching, 200 mph Top Fuel Harley-Davidson to Thunder Valley for lightning quick passes atop his two-wheel missile. Nothing beats the rumble of a Harley-Davidson at Bristol Dragway, unless it’s the rumble of a nitro Harley-Davidson.

Returning to this year’s show is War Wizard, the fastest monster truck on the planet, which will try to reset the record monster truck top speed at its home in Thunder Valley. Always a crowd favorite, Team FMX also comes to Bristol with mind-bending freestyle motorcycle tricks which will have everyone on their feet pushing them to do their craziest stunts.

Megasaurus, an extreme dinosaur who likes the taste of metal, will show up to tear trashed cars to shreds. After Megasaurus finishes his evening meal, a fireworks show will light up the night sky above Bristol Dragway.

Thunder Valley Mayhem exhibition runs are slated for 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Sept. 22. Megasaurus will make his appearance following the second round of Saturday’s action.

Those in attendance will have plenty to keep them busy all weekend. The event, held in conjunction with the Super Chevy Show, will showcase the region’s best bracket racers in exciting head-to-head racing action.

Fans also will get to see a spectacular selection of some of the best classic and modern Chevys. The Super Chevy car show is one of the biggest and best Chevy and General Motors car shows around. Additionally, anyone interested in locating new products for their restoration project will want to visit the Performance and Restoration Marketplace. If that hard-to-find part is nowhere to be found, the car corral and used parts swap meet is definitely the place to go.

For extreme excitement and entertainment, Beef O’ Brady’s Thunder Valley Mayhem presented by Thompson Metal Services is just the ticket.

Spectator admission is $20 and includes Thunder Valley Mayhem and all of Saturday’s activities at the Super Chevy Show. Children 10 and under are only $5. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the Thunder Valley Mayhem exhibition vehicles performing at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Pro Modifieds and jet cars return on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
