One of the country's largest footbrake races descends on Bristol Dragway this weekend as BTE World Footbrake Challenge VIII rolls into Thunder Valley. The best footbrake racers in the country are set to slug it out for some big checks at the July 10-13 bracket races.

In footbrake competition, drivers are not allowed to use electronic equipment in their pursuit of a perfect start off the tree. Friday, Saturday and Sunday winners receive a hefty $10,000 prize and a WFC Gambler's Race immediately follows Thursday's Test & Tune. The July 10 test session is scheduled for 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. and cost to participate is $35.

Gates open on Friday at 8 a.m., with time trials at 8:30 a.m. and eliminations scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Saturday gates open at 8:00 a.m., time trials begin at 8:30 a.m. and eliminations start at 11:30 a.m. The popular Racer Appreciation BBQ is set for Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Gates open Sunday at 8 a.m. A church service takes place at 8:15 a.m., followed by time trials for new entries at 8:45 a.m. and eliminations at 11 a.m.

Spectator and crew entry fees are $10 each day. Racer entries are $150 for the $10,000 to win races.
