Life would be so much easier if money fell from the sky. On June 2, during the Fas Mart Street Fights event in Thunder Valley, life will become a little easier for a few fans, as cash will rain down from atop the control tower during the always-popular money drop.

At the event, fans should visit the Bristol Dragway gaming trailer to enter for their chance to be selected to compete in the promotion.

Selected participants will stand in front of the control tower to catch as many of the falling greenbacks as possible. Contestants have been known to go to great lengths to stuff their pockets, even trampling the Bristol Dragway landscaping to get their hands on the bills.

Action on the track will be just as exciting, however, as the region’s fastest street-legal machinery will battle to determine the fastest.

Spectators and racers are reminded that season passes for the 2011 season also will be on sale at the gate. Each pass is good for entry to five Street Fights events and there is no limit to the number which can be purchased.

Racer passes are $35 for five events, while spectator passes are $20 for the same number of races. Anyone who would like to purchase passes before coming to Street Fights may contact Amy Denton at (423) 989-6930.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, with racing set for 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $5, while anyone with a street-legal vehicle can challenge Thunder Valley for only $10. Children 12 and under are free.

The DER Bracket Racing Series will host a weekend of action June 4-5. The series will take a break after the event and return in July.

Gates open Saturday at 10 a.m., with tech at 10:30 a.m. and time trials at noon. Eliminations begin at the conclusion of time trials.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday. Tech inspection is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by time trials at 10:30 a.m. Eliminations take place after time trials.
