BRISTOL, Tenn. (Wednesday, July 16, 2014) - The future of NHRA drag racing takes center stage in Thunder Valley this week as the Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals presented by Mike Bos Chassis Craft and NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals presented by Viperizer roll into Bristol Dragway.

The week gears up with the July 18-20 Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals presented by Mike Bos Chassis Craft. An ideal opportunity for competitors to tune their cars prior to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Nationals are quickly becoming one of the country's greatest junior dragster events.

Drivers ranging in age from eight to 17 will participate in several events throughout the weekend including Saturday's index class racing and Sunday's bracket racing. Index races take place in 7.90, 8.90, and 12.90 classes (12.90 class is reserved for 8-9 year old racers). Competitors participating in bracket races will be divided into one of four age groups - 8-9, 10-12, 13-14 and 15-17. A $300 cash prize will be awarded to the winner in each class with $200 going to the runner-up, $100 to semifinalists and $50 to quarterfinalists.

Huddleston Performance Fun Races are slated to take place Monday, July 21 - Wednesday, July 23 with the 13-17 age group racing Tuesday and ages 8-12 scheduled the second day. Winners from each class receive a $400 grand prize with $300 awarded to the runners-up, $200 to semifinalists and $100 to quarterfinalists.

New to this year's Huddleston Performance Fun Races, the Monday, July 21 Huddleston Performance Shootout awards $5,000 cash to the winner. A 32-car field competes for the purse in true shoot out style and no time trials are scheduled for the event.

Starting Thursday, July 24, Huddleston Performance action transitions to the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals presented by Viperizer.

Attracting aspiring drag racers ages 8-18, Bristol Dragway is in the tenth year of hosting the Eastern Conference Finals which has served as a training ground for the sport's current stars such as 2014 Thunder Valley Nationals champion Shawn Langdon.

Competitors race for individual and team honors at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals. The event awards a Wally and $2,500 to the winner in each of the eight age categories —8-9, 10, 11,12, 13, 14, 15, 16-17 — and a Wally to each member of the winning team.
