It’s everybody’s dream – money falling from the sky – and on Thursday night, April 7, a few lucky fans at Fas Mart Street Fights will have the chance to keep everything they can catch as the money drop returns.

Fans can visit the Bristol Dragway gaming trailer and enter for their chance to be selected to compete in the money drop during the event.

Once selected, participants will stand in the “drop zone” in front of the control tower.  Anyone not in the contest should watch out, however, as all rules are off when the money flies.  Participants have been known to race over everything in their paths, including the landscaping.

Action on the track will be just as furious, however, as the region’s fastest street-legal machinery will battle to determine the fastest.

Spectators and racers are reminded that season passes for the 2011 season also will be on sale. Each pass is good for entry to five Street Fights events and there is no limit to the number which can be purchased.

Racer passes are $35 for five events, while spectator passes are $20 for the same number of races. Anyone who would like to purchase passes before coming to Street Fights may contact Amy Denton at (423) 989-6930.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, with racing slated for 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $5, while anyone with a street-legal vehicle can challenge Thunder Valley for only $10. Children 12 and under are free.

The DER Bracket Racing Series begins its season with a test and tune session on Friday, April 8, followed by a weekend of racing April 9-10.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday, with tech inspection at 4:30 p.m. The test and tune begins at 5:30 p.m.

Gates open Saturday at 10 a.m., with tech at 10:30 a.m. and time trials at noon. Eliminations begin at the conclusion of time trials.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Sunday. Tech inspection is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by time trials at 10:30 a.m. Eliminations take place after time trials.
