Two Bristol Dragway competitors came agonizingly close to earning victories in the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals presented by ViperizerRacing.com last weekend in Thunder Valley.

Blountville’s Carson Brown made it to the semifinals in the 8-9 year old division, but was defeated by eventual runner-up Brooklyn Leblanc of Bella Rose, La.

Dylan Kiser of Corryton also made it to the semifinals in the 13-year-old class before Alex Nay of Newcomerstown, Ohio sent him back to the trailer.

Gage Esneault of Belle Rose, La. defeated Leblanc to earn the 8-9 year old crown. Dillan Kyle out of Gay, Ga. knocked out Nicholas Altenbach, Westerville, Ohio, for the 10-year-old win.  Kyle was a runner up at last year’s event making this his second final in as many years.

Daniel Young from Palm Harbor, Fla. took the 11-year-old class by beating Derek Raymond, of South Lyon, Mich. in the final.

Sydney Coleman of Elkton, Md. earned the 12-year-old division win over a red-lighting Madison Lee from Campbell, S.C.

Honors in the 13-year-old category went to Heather Boyko from Northhampton, Pa. over Nay.

Hendersonville’s Morgan Nappier defeated Anthony Heiman in the 14-year-old finals, while Dillon Richards from Lake Charles, La. drove past Brittany Boltz of Lancaster, Pa. to win the 15-year-old division.

Picking up her second Eastern Conference Finals Championship was York Spring, Pa. racer Erin Warner.  Warner beat out William Marshall of Penndal, Pa. for the 16-17-year-old win.  Warner won the 14-year-old championship in 2007.
