Thunder Valley has hosted the Eastern Conference Finals, which features hundreds of young drag racers, ages 8-17, from all states east of the Mississippi River, for the last seven consecutive years.

Competitors in eight different age classes will race for savings bonds and the coveted “Wally” trophy, featuring the likeness of NHRA founder Wally Parks. It is the same trophy NHRA stars John Force, Tony Schumacher and Mike Edwards received for winning the recent NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway.

Bristol Dragway first hosted the Eastern Conference Finals in 2004 and the Western Conference Finals have been at Bandimere Speedway since NHRA adopted the Eastern/Western format in 2000. Competitors race for individual and team honors at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern and Western Conference Finals, and nearly $100,000 in savings bonds is given away at each event.
