Bristol Dragway officials have elected to postpone the Fas Mart Street Fights event originally scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 18 until a later date due to the upcoming August NASCAR race weekend.

One of the most popular weeks in the world of motorsports, Bristol’s August NASCAR race weekend, features the IRWIN Tools Night Race, the Food City 250 and the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200/UNOH Perfect Storm 150 doubleheader at the adjacent Bristol Motor Speedway. Track officials opted to make the move to allow workers extra time to prepare Thunder Valley for race fans coming to Bristol.

Bristol Dragway will play host to many race fans during the week, as the pit areas surrounding the famed quarter-mile are transformed to accommodate the fans in town for the event.

Additionally, Victory Weekend Ministries will set up a unique week of Christian-themed entertainment, including concerts, driver testimonies, motivational speakers and exhibitions, at Bristol Dragway during the upcoming NASCAR Race weekend.

The program begins Wednesday evening, Aug. 24 as WCQR and BMS present Sidewalk Prophets prior to the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 Truck Series event. The event is the perfect opportunity for church and youth groups seeking an alternative to the typical Wednesday night service. On Friday, Aug. 26, Victory Weekend Ministries will host Press Play, whose debut album went to No. 2 on the Billboard Christian charts, along with featured speaker Ron Luce, Co-Founder of Teen Mania. The Gatlin Brothers, who have more than 40 years of hit songs and albums, take the stage on Saturday, Aug. 27 for an afternoon of Gospel music from their massive repertoire.

Bristol Dragway will return to racing action with Mopar Thunder, Sept. 2-4.
