Bristol Dragway has the cure for every race fan aching to get back to Thunder Valley for the Fas Mart Street Fights Series season opener on Saturday, April 2…extreme power.

Doug Winters brings his fire-breathing, nitro-burning Pro Mod to Fas Mart Street Fights for the very first time. He will thrill the fans with insane 200 mph exhibition runs in his 3,000 horsepower ground-pounding machine throughout the afternoon.

While Winters’ Pro Mod will pack plenty of punch, fans are reminded that any street-legal vehicle is allowed to race during Fas Mart Street Fights. The event is the perfect opportunity for everyone to put their vehicle to the test. From station wagons and mini-vans to high-power American muscle and import tuners, there is something for everyone at Street Fights.

Spectators and racers also will have the opportunity to purchase season passes for the 2011 season. Each pass is good for entry to five Street Fights events and there is no limit to the number which can be purchased.

Racer passes are $35 for five events, while spectator passes are $20 for the same number of races. Anyone interested in purchasing season passes prior to the April 2 event, may contact Amy Denton at (423) 989-6930.

This season, Street Fights will have 17 events, including three Saturday races. The remaining events take place on Thursday evenings.

The Street Fights series provides anyone with a street-legal vehicle the chance to race on Thunder Valley’s famous drag strip in a controlled environment with people eager to assist them as they learn the sport.

Gates open at noon on Saturday, April 2. Racing begins at 1 p.m. Spectator admission is $5, while anyone with a street-legal car can challenge Thunder Valley for only $10.
