BRISTOL, TENN. (March 4, 2015) - 1965 inaugural event weekend, Richard Petty records a win. Don Prudhomme sets a nitro speed record of 266.27 mph during the 1985 Spring Nationals. John Force earns $200,000 winning the first Winston Showdown. Melanie Troxel scores the upset win at the 2008 Thunder Valley Nationals Funny Car final to become the first woman to claim a "Wally" in NHRA's two nitro classes. In 2012, Mike Edwards defeats Allen Johnson in the closest final round in NHRA history. Bristol Dragway has been the site of many drag racing milestones and now fans have the opportunity to select the greatest moment at Thunder Valley.

From March 4 - April 24, 2015, fans are invited to visit Bristol Dragway's 50 Greatest Moments to view 50 memorable moments at Thunder Valley and then select their favorite occasion from a photo gallery of the top-10 distinct Bristol Dragway moments.

"This year we celebrate the golden anniversary of Thunder Valley with our fans, partners and the local community," said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager for Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. "With the greatest moment's initiative, we are asking our fans to select the moment they believe shaped one of the iconic drag racing venues."

One fan that votes for Bristol Dragway's greatest moment will win a grand prize package consisting of a 2015 NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals (June 19-21) weekend ticket package for two along with the book "Bristol Dragway: Images of Sports", autographed by Author David McGee. The winner will be announced April 27.

Bristol Dragway will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout the year with additional promotions that will be announced at a later date.
