American muscle and import tuners rumble down the strip as Bristol Dragway allows any thrill seeker with a street legal ride to tackle the legendary quarter mile at Street Fights presented by ZRock 99.3.

Northeast State Community College hosts the Thursday, June 6 event which features the popular Power Hour. Pitting an eight car field in the best-two-out-of-three, grudge match racing, the night's fastest rides will go home with a trophy declaring their dominance in Thunder Valley.

Prior to eliminations, two qualifying rounds will be held to set the ladder of eight cars. The ninth and 10th qualifiers will be placed on standby in the event any of the qualified entries are unable to make the first round. Anyone can participate in Power Hour, but racers interested in accumulating points for the year-end championship must register at the gate prior to the first qualifying match. Bristol Dragway will not go back and pick up points following a run.

Entry fee for the championship race is $50 for the year with all membership fees returning to the racers through the purchase of a Championship jacket and trophy. Also in affect this week is the 2013 Rookie Pass Program, giving younger drivers the chance to showcase their talents behind the wheel. Designed to educate those who have just received their license, participating newcomers will receive access to experienced staff members and are able to race for free at any 2013 Street Fight event.

To participate in the Rookie Pass program, drivers must be 16 or 17 years of age, have a current driver's license and complete a minor waiver form, signed by both the participant and the parent/legal guardian (must be present to sign).

Gates will open Thursday at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. Cost to participate is $10 to race, $15 for trailered cars, and $5 for spectators.
