Piney Flats resident Chester Stamper spun the wheels of his 1986 Chevy Camaro to victory during last week's Burnout War at Street Fights presented by ZRock 99.3. When the smoke cleared from Thunder Valley, the event's enthusiastic fans and more than 170 racers crowned Stamper "Thunder Valley's Best Burnout."

At this week's Street Fights, racers strive for perfection during Perfect Night Light. On Thursday, May 9, anyone who achieves a .000 reaction time receive a racer pass good for one free night of racing in Thunder Valley. 

The new Rookie Pass program is also back this week, giving young drivers the chance to showcase their skills and access to advice from experienced Dragway staff. Designed to educate those who have just received their license, participating newcomers are able to race for free at any 2013 Street Fight event.

 Participants in the Rookie Pass Program must have a current driver's licences and complete a minor waiver form, signed by both the participant and parent/legal guardian (must be present to sign). The form can also be downloaded here but must be completed and notarized before it will be accepted. Anyone with further questions on the program should contact Kyle Rodriguez at 989-6966.

Gates open Thursday at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 to race, $15 for trailered cars, and $5 for spectators.

The DER Bracket Series is back in action on May 10 -11. Gates open Friday at 4 p.m. with time trials scheduled to begin at 5:30. Gates open at 10 a.m. on Saturday with time trials beginning at noon and eliminations immediately following.
