Nothing could stop the thunder in the valley last Thursday as more than 125 racers filled the lanes at Bristol Dragway's Street Fights presented by ZRock 99.3.

Power Hour highlighted the ACT Call Center sponsored event, pitting the night's baddest machines in head-to-head match-ups for the title of fastest ride in the Valley. In the Power Hour Car division, eight competitors faced off in a best two-out-of-three grudge match with victors taking home a trophy declaring their supremacy on the quarter mile.

Bristol's Matthew Ballou took home a win along with Elizabethton, Tenn.'s Danny Avery Jr., Charles Issacs and Allen, Ky. resident Willard Kinzer.

In the Bike division, Bluff City, Tenn. resident Jerry Turner beat out Elizabethton Tenn.'s Josh Reece for the top spot, taking home both bragging rights and a trophy for his performance.

Power Hour participants also added points to their record for the year-end championship.  Entry fee for the championship race is $50 for the year with the overall winner receiving a cash prize as well as a coveted Championship jacket.

A super charged Street Fights sponsored by Frito-Lay returns to Thunder Valley on August 8th with not one but two fan favorites on the schedule - Power Hour and the popular Money Drop.

Gates open Thursday August 8th at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m.  Cost to participate is $10 to race, $15 for trailered cars and $5 for spectators.
