Bristol Dragway Releases 2016 Schedule
BRISTOL, Tenn. - Bristol Dragway announces the 2016 action-packed calendar for the legendary drag strip featuring the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals June 17-19 on Father's Day Weekend.
The 51st season at Thunder Valley opens Saturday, March 26 with Street Fights. The popular series allows racing enthusiasts to tackle the famed quarter-mile in street legal rides. The 2016 season is comprised of 13 events, scheduled for Thursday nights and select Saturdays.
"The 2016 season is going to be our best year yet," said Jerry Caldwell, general manager for Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway. "We have a great schedule of events planned from the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals and Monster Trucks to the Super Chevy show. This is the year to bring your family and friends to Bristol Dragway and experience the extreme speeds and excitement of Thunder Valley."
In addition to Street Fights, regional racers have the opportunity to showcase their skills in the DER Bracket Racing Series, hosting its 8th season at Thunder Valley. Slated for nine weekends of racing in 2016, the popular grassroots racing series features competition in categories ranging from Super Pro to Junior Dragsters.
